My favorite stock artists on deviantArt, for my own reference, but also in case anyone wants some pretty sweet stock images (though most of these people are fairly well-known).
- ahrum-stock has the most insane poses. Seriously HQ dude.
- mjranum-stock has an incredible range of poses, costumes, models, lighting, and angles. Also verrryyyy HQ.
- senshistock has so many stock photos available it blows my mind. Not many different setups, but she always has unique poses and props.
- fairiegoodmother I just think the female model is really pretty.
- yellow-stock more pretty ladies, I’m sensing a pattern.
- felixdeon this dude has some of the weirdest gay fetish stock ever (that’s not true) but he also has an extensive gallery of male nude stock photos which is pretty hard to come by (heh heh come by).
Probably will add to this later as I rediscover photos. Enjoy if anyone is so inclined.

ok so the little side project I was working on seems to have been a … a sort of success so far? I wanted versions of the common Norman rig that weren’t overly cartoony so I went and modded ‘em up so they look and act more like real humans with more or less better proportions. And since they’re still technically the norman rig, they’re free for usage and super mod-able. The best part about this rig is its hands and its extremely expressive and versatile face.
In fact, to show the powerfulness of this glorious rig I made someone who would be fun to animate? So I threw together Korra! yay! I want to animate something with it maybe some time if I’m not too busy with class :I
I’ll put both versions up for download soon once I rename stuff and organize stuff inside of it so people can animate with them!!
please excuse the cliche poses for the base rigs because… well, you need a stupid one to submit it :(

How did you re-rig these? In my days changing the bone lengths would fuck dat rig up bad - o’course, that was maya 4 days. XSI usually had no problem - blew my mind in 2002.
A friend showed me how to do this in maya a bit ago, and it really made me jump out of my chair! That ugly set of planes can be made to look like foliage with the transfer attributes function, I made it adopt the same normals as a sphere!
That’s pretty clever. Saved! Any chance of a tutorial?
